YWCA Agvik is fortunate to have Embrace Life Council attend weekly with self-care and mental wellness support for women from both shelters.

Sivummut ran a weekly recovery maintenance group in the evenings for those who were interested and hosted facilitators of a cooking class program.

Land Trip

Thanks to some additional Covid-19 related mental health funding from Qikiqtani Inuit Association and the City of Iqaluit we were able to provide a number of extra activities to women and children during the pandemic.

Women and children got to go dog sledding, clam digging, boating and ice fishing. We also were able to host facilitators for Traditional stories and games as well as crafting.

Ending The Cycle

I seek support for my kids

I get one on one support

I learn that no one deserves abuse

I realize it is not my fault

I learn to trust myself

I create safety plans

I learn that I have choices

I learn about coping skills

I realize that I am not alone
